ABOUT TAPO ASHRAM
Bhagwan Sri Sri Sri PeddaBalayogiswarula Tapo Aashram, Mummidivaram,Executive committee (The Governing body) was constituted by sri peddabalayogiswarualu in the year 1949 & was in operation. The committee was registered with registration number 46/1977.Since 1949 to 1985 period, all the divine instructions , directions of tapo ashram operations were executed with the supreme orders of Bhagavan sri sri sri PeddaBalayogiswarulu.From 1986 to till date the executive committee headed and being operated by the then appointed president sri K S R Murthy IAS( Retd) .The Tapo ashram committee is maintaining the aims & objective as guided by the holy spirits of sriPeddaBalayogiswarulu.
ABOUT MUMMIDIVARAM
Mummidivaram is located at 16.65.00°N and 82.11.67°E It has an average elevation of one meter from MSL. it is on NH 214 and is about 44 km from District HQ, Kakinada and 70 km from Rajahmundry railway stations. The nearest airport is at Rajahmundry well connected with AP state capital Hyderabad with daily 10 to 12 super luxary bus services.Mummidivaram is the second largest town in “KONASEEMA”. Nagar Panchayat & mandal headquarters of EG district Land of Holiness:The name Mummidivaram is derived from the ancient name “MUNIVARAM”(“Blessings of Rishis & Saints”). In the early days the sages , saints used to perform tapsya(Penance) in this region and stands as an holy place.
The famous “Gajendra Moksha” described in “Sri Maha Bhagavatam” took place in this region as per the stalapuranam. Today it is the glorified , unique and world popular temple town of “Bhagawan Sri Sri Sri PeddaBalayogiswarulu”. It is a place of beautiful green field locations and various branches of Holy river of Godavari is passing through with all natural beauty. The area looks like “Alleppy of Kerala state”. Some of the area is covered with sea back waters, Islands, Coconut Grooves, mud forests across the banks of Bay of Bengal.
Bhagawan Sri Sri Sri PeddaBalayogiswarula Tapo Aashram is famous in the entire global scenario for its divinity. Unique features of this century to have such outstanding divine and enlightened “YOGI” on this universe. He has forgiven food ,water and the basic needs of life survival and spent in penance for more than 39 years being in closed jeevasamadhi. Once in a year on the next day of Maha Shivratri festival, He appears in public extending his divine darshan. He attracts large number of people about 8 to 9 Lacs Devotees from all over the world every year.Spritiual seekers, Rishis and Saints from holy belt of Himalayan range and other places visits this TapoAshram for his holy darshan and bliss.
Sri PeddaBalayogi born on 23-10-1930 to the holy parents sri K gangaiah and Smt K Ramamma who were of katikidala family and were surviving as a farmer family. Started tapsya (Penance) on 22-06-1946. From 22-06-1946 onwards sri peddabalayogi gave daily darshan to his devotees for about 30 months periods. Thereafter he took jeevsamadhi stihti of tapsya & continued up to 19.07.1985 and attained maha moksha samadhi on 19.07.1985.Performed ghoratapsya for more than 39 years periods.It is declared by Bhagwan Sri Sri Sri PeddaBalayogiswarulu that he was in the last stage of penance for attaining “Mahamoksha sadhana”.Further stated that it is his last and ultimate birth and desire not to disturb his penance in any manner.
